Our client is developing a next-generation, mobile-first trading platform designed to unify multiple asset classes within a single, seamless user experience. The vision is to enable users to trade tokenized equities, crypto derivatives, spot markets, and event-based contracts through one account with shared collateral and integrated risk controls.
They are looking for a highly technical CTO with deep experience in high-performance trading systems to lead the design and delivery of a hybrid trading architecture and advanced cross-asset risk framework. It is hands-on technical leadership, owning core architecture decisions and building institutional-grade trading infrastructure from first principles.

Responsibilities:

• Architect and ship a hybrid CLOB & high-performance matching engine (Rust-based off-chain sequencer targeting <5ms P50 latency, 100K OPS throughput).
• Build a real-time cross-asset risk engine: collateral weighting, cross-margining, netting, dynamic maintenance thresholds.
• Own perpetuals & derivatives infrastructure including funding rate mechanisms, leverage controls, and full position lifecycle management.
• Oversee smart contract architecture (EVM/Solidity), vaults, clearing house, governance, insurance fund contracts, and audit pipelines.
• Own platform engineering across API gateway, SDK, embedded wallet infrastructure (passkeys, account abstraction, TEE/verifiable compute).

Requirements:

• 12+ years in engineering, 5+ in senior technical leadership (CTO, VP Engineering, Head of Engineering, Chief Architect).
• TradFi-to-crypto crossover background (10–15+ years building equity/FX/rates trading systems at tier-1 banks, hedge funds, prop shops, or centralized exchanges before moving into crypto).
• Deep trading infrastructure & risk management experience. You’ve built matching engines, margin systems, liquidation engines, or real-time risk platforms in production environments.
• Strong derivatives market structure fluency (perpetuals, funding rates, portfolio margin, mark pricing).
• Hands-on blockchain/DeFi experience (Solidity, EVM, protocol architecture).
