About the Role
Position: Deputy Chief Compliance Officer, Credit Cards
Objective: To oversee regulatory compliance for mid to large-sized credit card portfolios, ensuring adherence to all relevant laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Regulatory Oversight: Monitor all credit card operations to ensure compliance with Federal and state regulations including the Truth in Lending Act (Reg Z), the CARD Act, FCRA, ECOA, UDAAP, USA Patriot Act, Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering Laws, OFAC, SCRA, and MLA.
- Compliance Management System (CMS): Implement and manage an effective CMS tailored for Credit Card Portfolios.
- Regulatory Inventory: Maintain an up-to-date inventory of applicable regulations, monitor changes, and ensure timely implementation of necessary updates.
- Regulatory Liaison: Act as the primary contact for regulatory agencies regarding credit card compliance.
- Policy Development: Develop and update policies and procedures in alignment with consumer protection and credit card regulations.
- Remediation Plans: Create and oversee effective remediation plans to address audit findings and compliance issues.
Skills and Experience Required
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in law, finance, business management, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 8 years in a compliance officer role with a focus on credit card regulations.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of Federal and state laws, including Reg Z, CARD Act, FCRA, ECOA, UDAAP, USA Patriot Act, Bank Secrecy Act, AML laws, OFAC, SCRA, and MLA.
- Legal Acumen: Ability to comprehend complex regulatory nuances.
- Regulatory Interaction: Experience handling interactions with regulators and managing regulatory audits and examinations.
