The Opportunity

A fast-growing payments company is looking for a hands-on Commercial Counsel to support its expanding business. This is a brand-new role, created by company and team growth. You will be the legal partner for commercial deals, helping the business move quickly while managing risk, and you will help build a scalable legal function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, negotiate and redline commercial agreements with customers, partners and vendors.
  • Advise the business on legal risk across payments products and partnerships.
  • Partner with Product, Sales and Underwriting teams to support deal execution.
  • Build templates, playbooks and processes that speed up contracting.
  • Give clear, practical legal guidance to non-legal stakeholders.

Ideal Background

  • Law degree and active license to practise.
  • Strong commercial contracting experience in payments, fintech or financial services.
  • Confident negotiating and redlining complex agreements.
  • Comfortable working independently as an individual contributor in a fast-moving environment.
  • Clear communicator who balances risk with business goals.
