The Role

This role exists to lead applied AI research and experimentation across core financial advisory workflows. As an AI Researcher, you will explore and evaluate emerging AI techniques, turning research concepts into practical systems used by advisors every day.

You’ll work closely with Product and Engineering to move ideas from prototype to production, contributing to early technical decisions while helping define the long-term AI research direction in a zero-to-one environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct applied AI research focused on real-world financial advisory use cases
• Design, prototype, and evaluate AI-driven approaches for client insights, recommendations, and planning workflows
• Research and experiment with LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), embeddings, and NLP techniques
• Translate research prototypes into production-ready features in partnership with engineering
• Develop evaluation frameworks to assess model quality, accuracy, and reliability in financial contexts
• Explore document understanding and financial knowledge extraction techniques
• Stay current with state-of-the-art AI research and identify opportunities for applied use
• Contribute to early architectural and technical decisions in a zero-to-one product environment

Requirements / Who We’re Looking For:

• 3–7+ years of experience in AI research, applied machine learning, or a related field
• Strong foundation in machine learning, NLP, or deep learning
• Hands-on experience experimenting with LLMs, embeddings, RAG pipelines, or knowledge systems
• Demonstrated ability to take research ideas from concept through prototype
• Proficiency with Python, ML frameworks, and modern data tooling
• Interest in or exposure to wealth management, financial advisors, or financial markets is a plus
• Comfortable operating in an early-stage, stealth environment with high ownership and ambiguity
