We are partnered with an early-stage FinTech building advanced investment technology for private market participants. The business is focused on transforming how institutional and sophisticated investors research, analyse, and operate across complex investment workflows.

The Role

This role exists to define and lead the AI function end-to-end. As Head of AI, you will own the strategy, architecture, and execution of AI capabilities across the platform, while remaining hands-on in delivery. You’ll work closely with executive leadership and product to turn AI into real, measurable customer value in a fast-moving startup environment.

This is a senior, high-impact role with direct influence over product direction, team growth, and technical foundations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and execute the AI roadmap in partnership with executive leadership, aligning technical delivery with business and customer outcomes
• Lead the design and implementation of AI-driven features across the platform, including LLM-powered workflows and intelligent automation
• Remain hands-on in model development, experimentation, and technical decision-making
• Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing AI team, setting standards for quality and execution
• Collaborate closely with product leaders to embed AI capabilities directly into core user journeys
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and approaches to maintain a competitive edge
• Establish best practices around AI governance, performance, and scalability

Requirements / Who We’re Looking For:

• 8+ years of experience building and scaling AI-driven products or platforms
• Proven experience leading and growing AI or ML teams in high-growth environments
• Deep hands-on experience with LLMs, machine learning, and applied AI systems
• Strong background working in FinTech, investment technology, or adjacent domains
• Comfort operating in early-stage or startup environments with high ownership and ambiguity
• Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on technical execution
• Experience in private markets, investment workflows, or PE-adjacent products is a strong plus
