Cloud Engineer 

Department: DevOps / Engineering 

Location: Remote 

As a Cloud Engineer within our dynamic FinTech company, you will play a key role in advancing our cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability. Leveraging your expertise in cloud technologies and DevOps practices, you will contribute to the evolution of our cutting-edge payments solutions. Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and enhance our cloud capabilities. 

Reporting Structure: You will report to the Head of Design   

Cloud Engineer Job Scope and Responsibilities: 

  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure to support the development and deployment of scalable and reliable financial applications. 
  • Collaborate with software engineers to integrate cloud solutions into the overall service architecture, ensuring alignment with best practices. 
  • Implement and optimize automation tools and processes for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure and work proactively to identify and address potential bottlenecks or areas for improvement. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement disaster recovery and business continuity strategies. 
  • Ensure the security and compliance of cloud environments, implementing best practices for identity and access management, data encryption, and network security. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with leading cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. 
  • Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools, such as Terraform or CloudFormation. 
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes. 
  • Familiarity with serverless computing and microservices architecture. 
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools for cloud-based applications. 
  • Understanding of cloud cost management and optimization strategies.
