Business Development Manager
Location: San Francisco / Bay Area (Remote)
A high-growth global payments platform is looking for a Business Development Manager to drive enterprise expansion across the US. The company enables international businesses to access high-growth digital markets through localized payment solutions and operates across multiple emerging markets globally.
This is a front-line hunting role, focused on engaging enterprise merchants across digital goods, e-commerce, and marketplaces, helping them scale internationally through tailored payment solutions.
The Role
- Own the full business development lifecycle: prospecting, pitching, negotiating, and closing enterprise deals
- Identify and win net-new logos, expanding market share and revenue
- Build and execute strategic territory and vertical plans
- Drive outbound activity through modern prospecting tools, AI, and data-driven insights
- Position the company as a strategic payments partner to enterprise clients
- Collaborate cross-functionally (product, marketing, GTM, legal, finance, operations) to ensure smooth deal execution
- Manage pipeline, forecasting, and performance metrics via CRM systems
- Provide market insights to leadership to refine go-to-market strategy
- Represent the company in the market, including industry events and conferences
What They’re Looking For
- 5+ years in Business Development / Strategic Sales
- Strong experience selling into enterprise accounts
- Payments industry experience is essential
- Deep understanding of the merchant payments ecosystem (processing, e-commerce, marketplaces)
- Proven track record of exceeding quota and closing complex deals
- Demonstrated hunter mentality with success in greenfield or highly competitive markets
- Experience building pipeline from scratch using AI tools, LinkedIn, and outbound strategies
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills (including C-level engagement)
- Analytical mindset with ability to leverage data and CRM insights
- Experience with tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot, and modern prospecting platforms
- Additional languages are a plus
