💲 Salary: $300,000 – $450,000 base + bonus + equity

A well-funded, IPO-ready, digital asset wealth platform, supporting institutional clients, family offices, and sophisticated investors across custody, trading, and yield strategies, is seeking a strategic and hands-on General Counsel to lead all legal, regulatory, and risk matters across the organization.

With strong institutional traction, expanding product lines, and a rapidly scaling client base, the business is entering a critical phase of growth — and needs an experienced legal leader to help navigate complexity, structure the platform, and unlock its next stage of scale.

Your Role:

• Serve as the company’s senior legal leader and trusted advisor to the CEO, executive team, and board of directors
• Own and oversee all legal matters, including regulatory strategy, product structuring, corporate governance, and enterprise risk
• Define the firm’s regulatory perimeter, spanning advisory, trading, lending, and yield-based products
• Lead regulator relationships, including federal and state agencies, examinations, and ongoing compliance frameworks
• Support strategic initiatives including IPO, M&A, and expansion into new markets and jurisdictions
• Build and scale a best-in-class legal and compliance function aligned to a fast-moving, product-driven environment
• Structure complex financial products across digital assets, lending, and institutional investment strategies
• Design and implement global entity, licensing, and jurisdictional strategy
• Manage relationships with external counsel and ensure efficient, high-impact legal support

What We’re Looking For:

• 12+ years of legal experience, including senior in-house counsel or General Counsel within fintech, financial services, or digital assets
• Strong understanding of SEC / investment adviser frameworks, with broader exposure to trading, lending, or structured financial products
• Experience operating in high-growth, venture-backed environments, ideally through scale or transformation phases
• Proven ability to engage directly with regulators and executive stakeholders
• Track record of building or scaling legal functions in complex, multi-product environments
• Strong commercial judgment with the ability to balance innovation and regulatory risk
• Licensed to practice law in the U.S. (NY preferred)
