The Company

Storm2’s client is a NYC-based FinTech rebuilding the American retirement system from the ground up. The founding team is stacked: senior leaders out of Goldman Sachs, Uber, Block, Stripe, and Robinhood, and the hiring bar across the existing team is set accordingly. They’re backed by a tier-one investor roster that includes some of the most respected names in venture and one of the most influential figures in modern private equity, which speaks to both the calibre of the team and the size of the opportunity.

The mission is simple to state and hard to execute: make market ownership and long-term wealth accessible to every American by building the credit marketplace, products, and platform that power a fundamentally new retirement model.

The Role

This is a foundational frontend hire on a lean, high-leverage engineering team. The product is a consumer-facing financial platform that ships on mobile and web from a single React Native codebase. People are moving real money, making allocation decisions, and reading performance and statement data that has to be exactly right, so the surface where all of that lives has to be fast, accurate, and trustworthy across every platform.

You’d own how that gets built. That means setting the standard on architecture, component design, performance, and accessibility across iOS, Android, and web, partnering closely with design and product on the flows that matter most (onboarding, funding, trading, reporting), and building the patterns the rest of the engineering team will inherit. There’s real surface area to shape, from the shared design system through to how complex financial data is rendered for end users on a small screen.

You’ll be in architecture discussions, planning, and code reviews across the stack, and you’ll have genuine input on what gets built and how.

What you’ll be working on:

• Building the consumer-facing surface of a regulated, money-movement product across mobile and web
• Architecting the React Native stack: shared components, state management, navigation, build tooling, testing
• Partnering with design on the core flows (onboarding, trading, funding, statements, reporting)
• Rendering complex financial data clearly and accurately on mobile and web
• Setting the standard on performance, accessibility, and frontend code quality
• Contributing across the stack as the team and product evolve

What you’ll bring:

• Strong frontend engineering in TypeScript and React Native, with production experience shipping to iOS, Android, and web
• Solid architecture instincts: component design, state management, navigation, build systems
• Experience building and scaling a design system or shared component library across platforms
• Strong eye for UX, performance, and accessibility in production
• Comfort working close to APIs and contributing meaningfully across the stack

Bonus:

• React Native Web or other cross-platform shipping experience
• Consumer FinTech, trading, or other regulated, money-movement products
• Data-heavy interfaces (charts, tables, reporting, dashboards)
• Early-stage or 0-to-1 product experience
• Familiarity with the wider stack (Kotlin, Temporal, AWS/GCP/Azure)
