The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Senior Accountant to become one of the first accounting hires within the business.
This is a unique opportunity to work alongside a cutting-edge finance automation platform, helping improve and refine accounting processes while ensuring accurate financial reporting across a growing customer base.
You’ll review accounting outputs generated by the platform, apply your expertise to validate and improve results, and help enhance best practices across both the accounting function and the broader business.
This role offers a clear path toward leadership as the company scales, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to combine hands-on accounting with process improvement and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Own month-end close activities from start to finish.
- Review and validate financial data and accounting outputs.
- Identify discrepancies and apply accounting judgment to ensure accuracy.
- Help establish scalable accounting policies and procedures.
- Collaborate closely with product, operations, and leadership teams.
- Support process improvements that increase efficiency and reporting quality.
- Contribute to the development of future accounting workflows and best practices.
Requirements
- 4+ years of accounting experience supporting multi-entity businesses, ideally within retail, hospitality, franchise, or other multi-location environments.
- Demonstrated experience owning the full month-end close process.
- Strong understanding of accrual accounting and GAAP principles.
- Experience with accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, Restaurant365, NetSuite, or similar.
- Knowledge of account reconciliations, consolidations, intercompany accounting, and financial reporting.
- Experience reconciling payroll and supporting operational accounting processes.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Preferred Experience
- CPA qualification.
- Experience leading, mentoring, or training accounting professionals.
- Multi-state sales tax knowledge.
- Previous experience within a technology-enabled finance, lending, or fintech business.
- Based in or willing to relocate to New York.
