A Series C-backed fintech is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build the systems behind an AI-native data platform trusted by some of the most demanding users in finance. The company turns messy, unstructured information into fast, accurate, decision-ready data – where coverage, speed, and accuracy are the product.
This is a role for an engineer who wants to work at the intersection of rigorous backend engineering and applied AI. You’ll be building production LLM pipelines, writing evals, and iterating on model outputs in a domain where correctness has real financial consequences. You’ll also help set the technical bar – challenging vague requirements, pushing code quality through reviews, and helping teammates level up.
What You’ll Do

• Design and maintain secure, scalable backend APIs and services for enterprise customers
• Build and improve production LLM pipelines, evaluation frameworks, and prompting strategies
• Implement observability and monitoring for model performance, latency, and cost
• Design efficient database schemas, optimize queries, and protect data integrity at scale
• Partner with product, frontend, and data/AI teams to turn requirements into clean technical solutions
• Drive high engineering standards through code reviews and architectural input

Who You Are

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong Python background; modern web framework experience is a plus
• Hands-on production experience with LLMs – pipelines, evals, and output quality
• Comfortable with distributed systems, caching, and async task queues
• Solid grasp of REST and/or GraphQL API design
• Able to break down ambiguous, complex problems and drive them to completion
• Direct communicator with strong ownership over outcomes
• Genuinely interested in the problem space – the type who reads competitor product launches and has opinions
• Background at high-growth, product-focused tech companies where you owned systems in production

Bonus Points

• Experience in fintech, financial data, or other domains where data quality and audit trails are mission-critical
• Exposure to data-intensive platforms, automation, or analytics products
