Storm2

⚡ Head of Customer Success
🌍 New York, US (On site)
💲 $210K base, bonus, equity
The Company
Storm2’s client is an AI-native accounting platform. They’re early stage, well-funded, and already supporting high-growth B2B companies that need billing, collections to actually keep up with scale. The product sits right at the intersection of accounting depth and AI automation, and it shows in the calibre of customers they’ve landed so far.
The Role
This is not a standard CSM leadership role where you inherit a large org and spend your time forecasting renewals and expansion. You’re stepping into a player-coach position, owning a small, high-impact team of six while still staying close to customers, product, and the detail.
The expectation is that you understand accounting workflows properly, not just from a surface CSM perspective, but from having lived the challenges around AR, close, and revenue recognition. You’ll shape how customer success works as a function, build playbooks grounded in real finance operations, and make sure the team is driving measurable outcomes like DSO reduction and automation adoption.
If you’ve ever been frustrated by finance tooling built without real accounting context, this role gives you the chance to fix that from the front line, influencing product direction while scaling a team around you.

What you’ll be working on:

  • Lead and develop a team of six Customer Success Managers, setting the standard for customer engagement, delivery, and commercial outcomes
  • Own a portfolio of strategic accounts, acting as the escalation point for complex accounting, integration, and product challenges
  • Partner directly with CFOs, controllers, and AR leaders to map complex workflows across billing, collections, and revenue recognition into the platform
  • Drive measurable outcomes across the customer base, including reduced DSO, improved automation rates, and clear ROI tracking
  • Build and refine onboarding, enablement, and success playbooks grounded in ASC 606, reconciliations, collections, and close processes
  • Work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Implementation to resolve issues spanning ERPs, CRMs, and payments infrastructure
  • Translate customer feedback into clear product insights, especially where accounting nuance impacts adoption or accuracy
  • Use data and analytics to monitor account health, identify risk, and surface expansion opportunities across the portfolio
  • Shape the long-term Customer Success strategy as the company scales, including hiring, structure, and operating model

What you’ll bring:

  • 7+ years across accounting, finance systems, or customer success, with a strong foundation in B2B SaaS or fintech
  • Prior experience leading or mentoring a team, ideally in a player-coach capacity
  • Deep understanding of AR, billing, collections, reconciliations, ASC 606, and the month-end close
  • Strong familiarity with finance systems and integrations, including ERPs like NetSuite, Intacct or QuickBooks and CRMs like Salesforce or HubSpot
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex accounting and data issues across systems end to end
  • Credibility with senior finance stakeholders, able to hold your own with CFOs and controllers
  • A structured, project-driven approach to managing multi-stakeholder workstreams
  • Commercial awareness, comfortable owning renewals, expansion conversations, and overall account health

Why this role
You’re not inheriting a finished function. You’re shaping how Customer Success operates in a company where accounting accuracy actually matters to the product. Small team, real ownership, and direct influence on both customers and product direction.
