A leading payments company is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to help build and scale the infrastructure powering modern commerce. Their platform is used by the largest global organisations and processes millions of transactions across retail, hospitality, gaming, lodging, healthcare, education, financial services and other enterprise sectors, enabling businesses to deliver seamless payment experiences across in-store, online, and mobile channels. You will build a highly scalable transaction processing platform that sits at the centre of the payment ecosystem, connecting merchants, payment providers, acquirers, processors and financial institutions through a unified architecture.

They are looking for an experienced senior software engineer with strong .NET and SQL expertise to shape products that support secure payment acceptance, transaction orchestration, customer engagement, and commerce analytics at enterprise scale. The ideal candidate is someone who has experience building highly available, API-driven platforms in payments, fintech, transaction processing, or distributed systems environments where reliability, security, and performance are paramount.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the Agile Scrum team
• Analyse business and technical requirements and translate specifications into scalable application designs
• Take the initiative and create solutions across different environments and products
• Design and develop modern web applications using React, TypeScript, and .NET technologies
• Build reusable, maintainable, and testable application components and libraries
• Contribute to architecture discussions and platform design decisions
• Advocate for maintainability, scalability, performance, and security across the software lifecycle
• Help evolve engineering standards, development practices, and technical frameworks
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, QA engineers, and developers
• Break down complex applications into modular and reusable components
• Optimise applications for accessibility, localisation, and performance

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong experience building applications with .NET and SQL Server
• Strong frontend engineering skills using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Deep understanding of Single Page Application (SPA) architectures
• Experience with Redux or comparable state management solutions
• Strong understanding of API-driven application development
• Experience designing scalable, maintainable software solutions
• Knowledge of authentication, authorisation, and secure coding practices
• Experience optimising application performance and user experience
• Familiarity with Git and modern development workflows
• Experience working in Agile software development environments
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to work effectively within fast-paced, collaborative teams
• Experience within SaaS, fintech, commerce technology, retail technology, customer experience platforms, or enterprise software
