The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a strategic and commercially minded Head of Compliance to build, lead, and scale a global compliance program.
This role sits at the intersection of regulation, risk management, and business growth. You’ll work closely with executive leadership, product teams, legal stakeholders, and external partners to ensure the organization maintains strong compliance standards while supporting continued innovation and expansion.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise across financial services compliance, regulatory frameworks, risk management, and partner oversight within a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and execute the company’s global compliance strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Lead the ongoing enhancement of compliance policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
- Serve as the primary compliance subject matter expert across the organization.
- Build scalable compliance processes that support future growth and geographic expansion.
- Evaluate and manage third-party compliance technology and service providers.
Regulatory Compliance & Oversight
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
- Monitor regulatory developments and assess impact on products, operations, and partnerships.
- Support licensing, registration, and regulatory reporting requirements where applicable.
- Maintain compliance frameworks relating to financial crime prevention, sanctions screening, customer due diligence, and other regulatory obligations.
Partner & Third-Party Risk Management
- Act as the primary compliance contact for key external partners and service providers.
- Lead due diligence reviews and ongoing oversight activities.
- Establish strong governance processes for third-party compliance management.
- Support onboarding and monitoring of strategic commercial relationships.
Risk Management & Controls
- Design and implement monitoring, testing, and reporting frameworks.
- Conduct risk assessments across products, customer journeys, and operational processes.
- Identify emerging compliance risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Oversee issue management, remediation plans, and control effectiveness reviews.
Governance, Policies & Training
- Develop and maintain compliance policies and internal control frameworks.
- Deliver compliance training and awareness initiatives across the organization.
- Foster a culture of accountability, ethics, and regulatory responsibility.
- Provide guidance to business stakeholders on compliance-related matters.
Audit & Regulatory Engagement
- Lead internal reviews, external audits, and regulatory examinations.
- Coordinate responses to compliance inquiries and information requests.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to relevant stakeholders.
- Manage remediation activities arising from audit findings and assessments.
Business Enablement
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Legal, and Commercial teams to support compliant innovation.
- Provide regulatory input on new initiatives, partnerships, and market expansion plans.
- Balance regulatory requirements with commercial objectives and customer needs.
About You
We’re interested in speaking with professionals who have:
- 7+ years of compliance experience within financial services, fintech, payments, banking, or other regulated environments.
- Strong knowledge of AML, sanctions, customer due diligence, and broader regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience building, scaling, or managing compliance programs within a growing organization.
- Exposure to partner management, vendor oversight, and risk governance.
- An understanding of modern financial infrastructure, digital products, or technology-enabled business models.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
- The ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working with executive-level stakeholders.
